Will the 755CX's 800x600 screen fit/work in a 755CD?

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

Will the 755CX's 800x600 screen fit/work in a 755CD?

Is it possible to upgrade a 755CD to an 800x600 screen? If so, does it work properly and display 256 colors at 800x600? (a couple years back I tried to upgrade a DSTN 600 to TFT but the connectors were different on the mainboard; are the connectors the same for the VGA and SVGA screens on 755CE/CX?)

Don't know if this helps, but I have a complete lid from a 760 E/X for cheap ($25 shipped).
It has a 12.1" XGA screen.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
