FS: R500, P9500 (2.53/6M/1066), 8GB RAM, 802.11ac, good battery
Here for sale is a very upgraded R500. It is from my personal collection. This one is recently retired from being my TV computer running Kodi via OpenELEC. The LCD is 15.4" TFT display with 1280x800 resolution, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, CD-RW drive. (Can include a DVD-RW drive if the buyer wants, it will work but is not the right height.) There is a very thin (1 px wide) scratch on the LCD. I do not think they are dead pixels.
No hard drive included
8GB RAM (2x 4GB)
Whitelisted BIOS installed
Realtek 802.11AC card installed
Repaced thermal paste on heat sink
Good battery included
AC Adapter = extra $10
60 USD + shipping
Pictures upon request.

What OS is on the COA and is the COA intact and legible?

There is a Slic-BIOS for R500, which allows for Vista and W7 activation from Lenovo Recovery disks, without requiring a COA.

I was thinking of just buying a pre-loaded hard drive on e-bay. I have a seller I have done business with before for Lenovo's. I would have to check if he has one pre-loaded for an R500.

Bad idea!
You don't know what "phone-home" and/or hidden ID-stealing junk might be installed on it.
Any recovery set between T/Rx00 and T/Rx30 will work fine, preferably on an SSD.

I am 99% sure I flashed SLIC BIOS on this R500 so it can activate from recovery disks. I also seriously recommend getting a SSD over a HD.

Can you really trust a Ukrainian with a modified BIOS? What sort of backdoors has he programmed into those whitelisted BIOS's?

If the BIOS is your concern I can replace it with a Lenovo FW for you, but then the 802,11ac would have to go too.

I was trying to make a point. I have one of his BIOS's in my T520 for a different wi-fi card. I'm not worried about the BIOS or the hard drive.
