No, because the T570p would be a T570 with Quad-Core-CPU, just like the T470p is the T470 with Quad-Core. The P51s is just the T570 with a CAD-capable Quadro GPU. The Quadro GPU is the reason why it is part of the P-Series.

Here we go, T470 review: http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Lenov ... 920.0.html. Once again Lenovo decided to earn few more pennies and put into it Innolux panel.

I wouldn't expect anything good from the mainstream models anyway. Only the s and p submodels might be interesting in the T series these days.

I found someone has disassemled the T470p, the laptop without M.2 slot, but you can add a M.2 2242 SSD, or you can buy a SSD tray from Lenovo to add a M.2 2280 SSD. here is the guide http://www.laptopmain.com/lenovo-thinkp ... e-options/

It's funny how some people are never pleased. 4-5 years ago there wasn't a single IPS screen in the entire T series line-up. And there wasn't anything over HD+ in 14".

Now, they have this, and the guy is still hugely disappointed. I bet that if they had the 300 nits 90% sRGB, he would be complaining that it's not 400 nits 100% sRGB or something.

IPS is IPS. Or more precisely, non-TN is non-TN. Even the mediocre HD IPS in the X220 is still leaps an bounds above the best TN garbage they have in laptops (desktop TN screens are not nearly quite as bad). And this FHD IPS, which is without a doubt better, is not even considered decent? :??:
Yeah, you're right dr_st
I just did an "upgrade" on my T460 from the low-quality LG panel to the venerated AUO B140HAN01.2 with very good percentage of sRGB and AdobeRGB, I put my thoughts here:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=123457

Certainly Lenovo was going on the right direction when they put the AUO screen on the T440s/T450s models, but then on the T460 line took a step backwards.
The good news is that you can swap the panel and put the AUO and get brightness controls on Windows, no EDID trouble like on the T450, hopefully this stays the same as in the T470.

Not all TN panels are bad. I have an FHD Innolux TN panel on my upgraded T450 and other than the off-white (yellowish) tint that can be mildly annoying when viewing web pages with a white background on the whole it is quite a superb panel - sharp - reasonable viewing angles and OK to good brightness, as a developer I couldn't really ask for more (I expect Designers and those that love great viewing angles would disagree... but developers don't move their heads much and many don't like folk peering at their code :) )

I like many thought all TN panels were garbage but there are a few that are wholly usable.

The UXGA panel on my old T500 was TN (I think), as was the 1600x900 on my old T520... never thought they were bad at all.

Mind you I can't remember how good the IPS Flexview UXGA was on my T43p back in 2006 :)

Gone but not forgotten 1998-2006: 2006 T43p 2668-H2G (2GB/60), T22 2648-8EG (128/20), 2005 X40, X31, 2004 T30 SXGA+, 600X, 2003 770 P233+DVD Card, 760XD 1998 760XL+104MB

Based on my sample set - most modern desktop TN panels are already reasonable plus. Most laptop TN panels are still garbage. Exceptions exist in both categories, but the average still seems to hold. :)
