Screen Looks Weird After Upgrading

So I just upgraded the screen on my t420 with a LG LP140WD2 (TL)(G1) screen it looks very weird. I can't really describe it in words but I'll say that the words look extremely smudgy, there are very pronounced "lines" on the screen and it is unusable in this state.

At first I thought it might be the screen, but I want to get a second opinion before I ask to return it to the seller on ebay because it might be the LCD cable that I purchased to go with the new screen.

I know this new LCD cable works as it is able to drive the original Samsung ltn140at20 (768 resolution) screen just fine. And I know its plugged in all the way, as I would have blew the back light fuse by now it wasn't.

The LCD is silver in color and has two part numbers listed FRU: 04W1618 and ASM: 0A65239, however at the top it says "NZ3 LCD HD CABLE REV:R00" this seems strange to me as all of the other silver colored cables I have seen have the FRU: 04W1618 but say "NZ3 LCD HD+ CABLE REV:R00"

I'm really starting to think that I may have purchased the wrong cable, but I'd just like to make sure before I doing anything else to this computer.

Looks indeed like you bought a HD LCD-cable instead of HD+.
Compare it to the cable you had originally.

It being Lenovo's lack of QC, this mess-up is to be expected unfortunately, the same FRU for both and a different ASM.
