T22 and mp3 playback

#1 Post by Mika82 » Wed Jun 15, 2005 11:07 am

Hi!

If I´ll listen to mp3 music with my T22 I get sometimes some "crackling" sound. I wonder why? I think the 1Ghz P3 with 512Mb can handle easily mp3 playing. I think some hardware conflict or somethind? The os is XP pro edition.

Assuming it is not the MP3 itself, the speakers may need to be reseated.

Found the problem

The speakers are OK. The problem is with the Intel Speedstep. If I change the processor speed to the maximum instead of adaptive, the mp3´s plays fine. The sound comes "crackling" for about one to two seconds when the processor speed is changed by speedstep.

The processor is older P3 mobile version. The later P3 mob. processor has better Speedstep technology.

No, you are wrong. The old P3 needs max. only 150Mhz for MP3.
It seems your drivers are screwed up. Reinstall the audio drivers.
Speedstep does not affect anything. MP3 is just no load for the CPU at all.

Have you tried using a different audio player program?
