My new X1 carbon with stripe on top of LCD

Hi,
I just buy a new X1 Carbon, but there is error on LCD. This is captured in my picture.
There is blank stripe on top of LCD, no characters appears there and windows is also partly hidden.
I am also IT guy and try many updates, from BIOS, drivers, and everything. But it seems a hardware issue?
Anyone know and can confirm the error? I do not have much time and would like to check before spending days for hardware fixed in service center.

Go talk to the manager of the store. That seems like display defect. Since you have just bought the machine as new, you would like to let them replace it for you instead of you buying parts for several hundreds of dollars.

hello and welcome to the forum..
several points..
1. your IP = hanoi so your location must reflect that..
2. ANY hardware issue is a warranty issue so if you just purchased this X1 and it is new just out of the box if it were me a would ask that it be replaced.. i agree with the forum member above..
and
3. the picture of the display shows IBM..?! i've not seen ANY lenovo made thinkpad with an IBM screen saver or wallpaper.. so did you change that at some point ..? just asking since it is a bit strange.. maybe the seller made changes before you bought this thinkpad X1..?

I am in Hanoi now indeed on traveling.
It is just my check if I need to change laptop immediately or just common error with simple update.

The IBM background picture is a small wallpaper (600x338) which can be found here: http://wallpapersafari.com/download/gixbTY/
It requires a relatively simple BIOS mod to get this on your own laptop(s).
