R61e fan error issue

#1 Post by wujstefan » Sun Jan 15, 2017 9:22 am

Hello,

I got quite a number of R61/i/e 15,4" units that I'm trying to reanimate (13 to be precise). However, I got stuck at lucky #7 - no matter what kind of fan I plug in, I'm getting a constant "fan error" message - and it turns off before entering the BIOS and/or loading the system.

Should be mobo problem or what?

Try cleaning the connector on the planar with alcohol, then dry it out with compressed air. If none of this helps, it's most likely to be a motherboard issue, possibly a blown fuse.

Good luck.

Unfortunately it was a motherboard issue.

Oh well. Kissed a trash bin. Anyone cares for free plastics for a R61i 15,4"?
