Pentium M 780 nhc undervolting
Pentium M 780 nhc undervolting
I am just wondering what undervolting settings have all of you used on Pentium M 780 that works without underclock/freezing?
I have set my 6x setting into 0.988V and 17x (max) setting into 1.228V. Before it has to top to around 94 degrees, now it tops at 80 degrees with no GPU usage and 83-84 with full GPU usage (FireGL V3200)
Also did any of you underclock the GPU as well? FireGL V3200 runs especially hot! The GPU can go up to 95 degrees where it throttles while the CPU remains at 75!

Re: Pentium M 780 nhc undervolting
My settings from when I had PM 780, a digit or two might be incorrect, the paper is old and I've just scribbled the values on it:
Multiplier 6 - 0.6
8 - 0.78
9 - 0.812
10 - 0.876
11 - 0.956
12 - 1.004
14 - 1.064
15 - 1.120
16 - 1.2
17 - 1.224
As for the GPU, I've played with some underclocking but was never really all that pleased with the results so I haven't saved any figures.

There are no generic/universal undervolting settings. You have to stress-test the CPU every time you lower the voltage.kfzhu1229 wrote:I am just wondering what undervolting settings have all of you used on Pentium M 780 that works without underclock/freezing?
Usually, you'll be spending an entire day trying to find the lowest stable voltage.
Daily driver: X220 4291-P79 i5-2520M
In reserve: X61 T7500, X60 T2300
In pieces: X60s CS U1300 [board only], two retired but working X61Ts
RIP: 760XD 9546-U9E

Now I am trying these values. Just to make sure in case you had some incorrect values, I have raised up every voltage you've provided by one option available in the drawer boxes in nhc (except for the 17x one which I have tested before that 1.228V is indeed stable). I am now trying to use this machine on a daily basis with these values and will keep this updated.ajkula66 wrote:My settings from when I had PM 780, a digit or two might be incorrect, the paper is old and I've just scribbled the values on it:
Yep I know this part. I was just asking for some values for me to start off with to save me some hassle.axur-delmeria wrote:There are no generic/universal undervolting settings. You have to stress-test the CPU every time you lower the voltage.

Re: Pentium M 780 nhc undervolting
So far it is working great on me!
I used the following settings (based on ajkula66's - thanks for that recommendation):
M V
6x 0.7V
8x 0.796V
9x 0.828V
10x 0.892V
11x 0.972V
14x 1.084V
15x 1.116V
17x 1.228V
