IBM Depot service: what to expect?

I just packed away my thinkpad for shipment tomorrow, the problem being my ethernet adapter and my harddrive clicking. I'm worried about the ethernet problem, since I'm not sure the problem will be replicatable on their end without using the equipment that I have. I attached a letter, but if they can't find the problem, will they still replace the adapter, based on my word?
