one quick question about updating my T43!

#1 Post by Scorpiontico » Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:04 pm

hi, ok this is my situation:
-i got my t43 like a month ago
-i burned the R&R cds (cd + dvd actually)
-i just finished updating everything for my t43 (software)

so my question is, since i have downloaded and updated all my system's software what would happen if i burn another R&R set?

will that set have the updates i downloaded? or will that set be just as the same as the first set i burned (when i first got the computer from ibm)?

thanks alot.

ps:it'd be so cool if possible!

no different. Because the data that you burned was came from the hidden part in your hard drive (IBM could save a little bit $$) But the update that you did were only takes effect to C:\ (if you haven't change the symbol)
You are not able to add or minus stuff from the hidden part.
Please correct me if i am wrong~ 8)

I have a T-42, but I imagine it's the same for the T-43. If you do a keyword search in Access IBM for 'recover software' you will see that there are 3 recover options, and information on how to do this. The 3 options are:

1) Rescue files to alternative media (diskette, CD, DVD, USB HD, or network)

2) Restore from backup.

3) Restore factory contents.

Option 2 allows you to restore all the changes that you made - up to the last backup. This option requires IBM's Rapid Restore Ultra to be installed.
