WTB: 701c FDD,HDD,CD DRIVE.

#1 Post by Thinkpad4by3 » Tue Mar 28, 2017 2:43 pm

I am working on a 701c project and I had the OEM drive but it died so I need a new one(preferably with a stock image). Also, I need a FDD and PCMCIA CD-ROM drive for installing programs/games/etc. I don`t need all at of these at once. I just wish IBM wouldn`t change their floppy connectors every 5 minutes :x !
The only acceptable use for a MacBook is to shop for a Thinkpad.

I have several hard drives. None has a stock image but are good drives. FDD is very hard to locate. I might have an extra. PCMCIA CDs are still available on eBay. I just picked one up for about $25. Since the part of IBM that made these things 20 years ago is long gone not much good to lament their historic design decisions. The 701 floppy connector is unique as far as I know.
