Hello People,

Just wanted to tell you how happy I am...I GOT MY T42's FAN TO STOP WORKING

I just wanted to thank you all for the constant fan discussions and for all the help i've received here. What ended up working for me was the NGO catalyst drivers...once I enabled powerplay...it worked!...that was weird for me though because i've tried underclocking and the omega drivers, nothing worked except for the NGO ones...cool!

Congrats. With 1.6 dothan and ATI 7500 it should not be difficult to get the fan to shut off.

nope - doesnt work for me(T42-fvu) with the latest version.

Hmm, actually, for what I read, there are different remedies for different computers. I'm sure you'll be able to find one that suits your profile. I find it weird though, when I have it connected to ext monitor (it doesn't turn off), but when I don't, it does turn off (b/c powerplay is enabled..hehe)

hmm... I strongly doubt that just simple drivers can change things that dramaticaly. I have given it a try - no changes
