X1 Carbon Gen3 key replacement

#1 Post by asper16 » Wed May 24, 2017 7:54 am

Hello!

Newbie here. I apologize in advance if an identical question exists, but I wasn't able to find it.
I have X1 Carbon Generation 3 and I recently popped the '~' key while attempting to clean it. The popped retainer hinges look like this. Can you help me figure out how to put it back together?

You have to put the two pieces on the left together. Then put those pieces in the clips of the keyboard. Then push the keycap on. I have an x240 so i can make a video for you when i get home.
The only acceptable use for a MacBook is to shop for a Thinkpad.

I would appreciate that greatly, as I'm still struggling to put it together correctly.
