In my parts-collection I just came across these Cardbus/PCMCIA Smart Card Reader/Writer items.
They fit into a standard PCMCIA Type II slot.
They are suitable for a wide range of applications for government as well as for enterprise and home usage.
Typical applications areas are electronic ID, social security and loyalty programs, secure network log on, e-Banking as well as online shopping and gaming activities.
The below SCRxxx are all Miltary DoD approved.
This is just what a military or government employee needs to check e-mail or log onto secure web sites from home.
I got these:
3x SCR201 SCM Smart Card Reader / Writer
1x SCR241 SCM Smart Card Reader / Writer
2x SCR243 Schlumberger Smart Card Reader / Writer (AFAIK also made by SCM)
plus this oldie that was designed for Windows 2000 and XP:
1x SR-4044 Omnikey Cherry Smart Card Reader(only)
Sold to a forum member.
SOLD: PCMCIA Smart Card Reader/writer
