Monitor blacking out

#1 Post by Renz » Tue Jun 13, 2017 8:45 pm

Hi there,

This is an update to that earlier post fwded below this text, the black out flickerings disappeared for all that time, but now they are back for good, and to a point that makes it impossible to work at all.

The issue occurs only on the integrated display, that is

I have found a workaround and it works a treat, I scaled down the resolution to 1380x768 for time being, however I would be interested if there was a way to identify what is happening and hopefully find a reliable way to fix it.

Not sure if the driver is to be blamed but it's the version 9.17.10.4459 Intel Sandy Bridge-MB GT2+ - Integrated Graphics Controller [D2/J1/Q0] [Lenovo]
Monitor Name: Lenovo B156HW01 V4
Monitor Hardware ID: Monitor\LEN40B2

It could also be the way it is configured by default however I had a look in the graphic properties however everything looked conform to my knowledge.

Thanks

Yes so it looks like the intel graphics is running a muck now. It flashes black for a few seconds then back to normal, every couple of minutes.

Is it the bit where I have to change my motherboard

Just a suggestion but have you tried an external USB display driver like USB to DVI? Try that and see if it still blacks out. Also, when it blacks out, does the screen recognize the screen but goes black or like you pulled out the cable and put it back in?

Usb monotpr drovers are cpu driven, not gpu, and therefore dont conflict with GPU issues which may be occuring.
