Difference between 2687DVU and 266892U?

#1 Post by viclitt » Sun Jun 19, 2005 3:26 am

Anyone can tell me the difference between 2687DVU and 266892U? From the IBM website the configurations are identical, only 266892U costs about $100 more but weighs less than 2687DVU, which is what I am interested in(I mean the weight). And how come they weight differently with the same configuration? Are they built in different way?

By the way, I live in Canada so can I buy from the US website? It's not only the price but also I like the models on US website more. Actually I prefer a t43p with 15" 1400x1050 display. Does that model even exist?

Thanks a lot.

266892U comes with 6 cell battery. 2687DVU comes with 9 cell battery, thus the weight difference.
2687DVU is an Express model which are stocked in higher quantity and have a lower list price than the comparable standard model.

Thanks for reply so quickly. Seems I missed the battery thing.

But does that mean that 2687DVD has a better battery and costs less? (I assume this is where the Express model comes in?) Looks cool. :)

Yes, the DVU has a higher capacity battery and costs less, but the 9 cell battery does stick out the back about 1 inch. The 6 cell battery is flush along the back.
