Does the T43 use dual-channel memory?

Actually, even if it DOES, it'd be running in single-channel if it's how you describe it...

So, no performance drop, unless the Crucial stick is lower spec (speed, timings, etc.) than the IBM stick. However, Crucial's pretty good about matching the stock specs.

I'm going to say that there'll be no performance drop.

I've got a 128MB Kingston module and a 256MB Crucial module in my Dell, and there was no performance drop - in fact, the whole system is MUCH more responsive, especially when multitasking (it's got a 4200RPM hard drive, so swapping is dog slow).

According to tabook, T43 is dual channel capable. Given the relatively low FSB frequency, there probably won't be much difference in reality. Even less if it's not a GMA 900.
