Issues dealing with the factory installed 'hidden partition' should be placed in software forums. The T series is not a general forum! :)
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

1. Save all your data.
2. Delete ALL partitions with e.g. fdisk
3. Change boot order permanently: CD first.
4. Insert 1st recovery CD, boot
5. Follow instructions.

If you haven't created a recovery set since you received your laptop, you'll probably need to try and buy it somewhere, or else (if it's available) buy a hard drive from IBM (Lenovo) that has the hidden partition already on it.

Zeitgeist's suggestion would be easiest assuming you have recovery cds.

I may be wrong, but I do not believe that Ghost (or any other program) will have what it takes to creat the hidden partition. You need the Rescue and Recovery CD's that you make, using the original hard drive that came with your IBM laptop, to creat the hidden partition on a new hard drive.
