SoundMAX Control Panel in X31 ???

I installed and ran the new IBM Software installer on my X31 the other day. I let it install most of the updates that I recognized as useful for me. It worked great.

It installed the SoundMAX Control Panel which I thought was a driver update and mixer.

Instead, it appears to be a tool for configuring the X31's built in microphone or a plug in head set/microphone which I have no use for.

There is supposed to be a SoundMAX mixer which is highly rated but it doesn't appear to be on my system. If I uninstall this, will it remove the complete SoundMAX drivers or just this feature?
