When I first got my T43 2668-75U, with power management set to max performance, I was getting a SUPER_PI score of 1m 34s. The last time I remember getting that score was before I installed Centrino Hardware control. Now, I've set CHC not to run at startup, but whether or not CHC is running, I don't even come close to that. I'm typically seeing 1m 43s or sometimes even 1m 46s.
I can't be sure that CHC is the culprit, but am just curious whether anyone else has experienced similar issues? Aside from CHC, I haven't installed anything in the past couple days that I would suspect could impact performance.
tia for any thoughts on this one,

is it some sort of test like a prime number generator..??
does it only use the cpu..?
anything else running in the background..??

Hi Bill,
Basically, Super_PI calculates Pi up to a specified number of digits, and then shows the time it took to perform the calculation. A lot of review sites are bench marking systems by comparing the time it takes to calculate Pi to 2 million digits as in the following review:

I'm guessing that the program is primarily a raw test of CPU speed, and I've looked at factors such as process in the background but haven't narrowed down the cause of my lowered scores as of yet.
