My T430s is dead after inserting 2nd drive bay . I explain:
I just purchased a 1 TB drive and secondary bay for my Lenovo. The computer was running great. I ejected my DVD drive. I then slid in the new drive expecting to be able to format the new drive. This never happened since the machine will no longer power up at all. I get no lights or sounds of any kind. I have tried another power supply, taken off the battery, held the power button for 20-30 seconds, and even unplugged and reattached the CMOS battery.
I think a fuse is blowed. But, What fuse and where i can find it? Only Battery blinks 3 times when y plug AC withouth battery. Any other thing is dead.
Can you help me? Thanks!

My best guess is that you have to power off before swapping drives.
Why else would they have put two sliders (inaccessible during normal operation) on the bottom of the laptop?
So most likely you blew at least a fuse but you probably have done even more damage.
Don't know if there even is a fuse for the Ultrabay.
Check out The Boardroom for Parts, Mods and Other Services.
You don't have to do anything of the sort. The reason they put the stupid double slider mechanism is allegedly to prevent the Ultrabay device from accidentally falling out if the latch gets loose (it happened sometimes on earlier systems).
I've swapped Ultrabay stuff on-the-fly on all my Thinkpads, T430s included, and never had any issues.
My guess - it's either a really bad coincidence, or a faulty connector (in the Ultrabay or in the caddy) causing a spike that blew something.
X61 7673-V2V, T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G, X32 (IPS Screen), A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad, A21m 2628-GXU
Pd: if that Fuses exist as the manual claims. No more damage its caused, right? (in theory the Fuses are for that)
You will obviously wish to determine the root cause of why the fuse popped in the first place, before re-inserting the drive caddy.
Best of luck ...
