No 390z that I know of. There are two flavors of 390x, the early one with a 400Mhz Celeron or PII and the later version with a PIII 450Mhz or 500Mhz. Nice machines for their day and still working well but saddled with the neomagic video chip so no gaming or anything like that.
770x 500Mhz PIII
256Mb RAM
6Gb HD
8Mb VRAM
13.7" SXGA

Re: 390Z
I think there was 390Z, but only for the Japanese market. I'll try to look for some spec later.

I couldn't find any information on 390Z. But if it existed, I doubt there was much difference between the X and Z models.
I have some info on 380Z though: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... SHY-3XSMWZ

Re: 390E
Hi AJ, the MB is slightly different in the 390Es IIRC, but built on the same Intel 440BX chipset as the 390X.allthewayaj wrote:How about the 390E??? Is the motherboard the same??? All the difff's???
I've always wanted to get my hands on a 15" 390X to play with and upgrade, make a great DVD player and NAV computer for the boat.

380Z's were made but 300mhz processors, 390E's with 333mhz. 380Z's were clunky, ugly little boxes, but worked ok. 128mg ram card is good to have in one though, expensive as hell, but good to have. I have two 380z's three 390E's, a 770x, and a 770Z. By far, I'd have to say my favorite is......................i know i'll probably get beat for posting this with all the 770series lovers out there....
The 390E.
More slimlined, looks like a bigger display (never measured), and for some strange reason, it runs xp pro A LOT faster than my 770Z. Even at 33mhz slower, and only 64mg ram, as compared to the 770z's 130mg.
I think it all leads back to the cd and floppy all being onboard though.
Anyways...thats my two cents worth..
gooday
