Memory issue

#1 Post by Boricua65 » Tue Jun 21, 2005 1:32 pm

Now that I've gotten my T22 up and running, I've been having problems with the memory. When I turn it on, I get error beep codes, which I looked up in the HMM. When it does boot up, it only sees 256 MB, instead of the 512 MB that I installed. My question is, is one of the DIMM slots no good? If it's not functional, will getting another mobo make it functional again? Also, I have reseated the memory chip and turn it on, until eventually it either recognizes the other 256 MB or just boots up with only one DIMM working. TIA

What kind of memory? If it is IBM, what is the FRU?

If you thik it is the slot, can you narrow it down to one slot?

If the DIMM slot is bad a new system board is the best route. It is rare but happens.
