Thinkpad X1 Carbon (5th gen) Thunderbolt 3 travel hub...

#1 Post by Patrick B » Wed Nov 15, 2017 11:55 am

I'm looking for a Thunderbolt 3 travel hub for my 5th gen, Thinkpad X1 Carbon. I have the Lenovo Thunderbolt dock at home, but both of my on-board USB 3 ports are utilized, and thus I'm wondering about a TB3 expansion hub of some sort that I can use for when I'm travelling (about 75% of the time I'm on the road).

I know Hyperdrive (and Satechi, and DodoCool) has a system for the latest Apple Macbook Pros, so ideally I'd like to find something of a very similar nature. A TB3 dongle would be fine as well (there are dozens of USB-C hub / dongles available....but very few TB3 specific dongles that I can find).

I've seen a few on Amazon, but most seem to be USB-C 3.0/3.1 generation, and not the full speed, 40 Gbps TB3 devices.

Any recommendations?
