Just wondering, my Thinkpad's multiburner is named that in the safely remove hardware... Can this optical drive actually use DVD-RAM?

I think by "double side disc" he meant two single layer discs on the same physical disc. You flip it over; sorta like the early DVDs.

You don't have to flip it over. dual layer burner are burning two different depth level on the dvd. But u need a dual layer dvd.
As i know, Matshita UJ-822S doesn't support dual layer.

Yup. dvd-ram has double sided discs. They have nothing to do with dual layer discs. Dual layer discs are one sided.
