lcd Blues

Symptom: A20M pure bright lcd with no information displayed at any time.
External monitor display is fine.
Whats been done: Replaced "sub card" , cleaned sub card mb connection. removed lcd, inspect,cleaned and reseat all lcd connections.
Clue: Ocasionally the lcd will show lots of verticle colored lines, only on wakeup from suspend than goes pure white in 20 seconds. This had soda spilled on it some time ago however it did not get into the lcd area.
Suspect bad lcd and or cable but usually I can see some defects on the lcd electronics board or splits in the cable. I see none in this unit.
