FYI: Current RAM Prices

#1 Post by whizkid » Fri Jun 24, 2005 9:57 am

I've been memory shopping again. Here are prices for parts compatible with IBM 30L3069: PC100 SO-DIMM 256MB Non-parity, low density SDRAM from various vendors. This should work in the 600E and 600X, as well as the X20, X21 and other machines.

Lenovo $159
Simple Technology $150
Kingston $140
PNY $130
Crucial $106
Viking $79
Kahlon $65

I've got IBM/Lenovo, Kingston and Crucial in my machines, and all work great. I'd like to know what other people think of the brands you use.

It's not possible that some brand of memory is worth a little more than another? Maybe better componenets? Better reputation? Service?

How do you identify "PC100 SO-DIMM 256MB Non-parity, low density SDRAM" from the ads? For instance, is 16x8 or 32x8 what I want?

Thx - Chuck
