R40 video upgrade?

#1 Post by htrdfrk » Fri Jun 24, 2005 7:23 pm

I have the 2681-CU3 R40
2ghz processor
40g hdd
512 DDR
ati mobile radeon 7000 16mb ram
etc...etc...

And I was just wondering is there any way that I can upgrade my video card to something with more ram and bitrate and if so how hard would it be and how high can I go?

thanks in advance for your help.

Nope, the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard so you have what you have. IF you have a dock II you should be able to plug in a more modern video card in its pci slot and then connect an external monitor to that. But that's not an internal replacement solution unfortunately.
