TP570e Unable to Install or Run WinXP Pro - HELP!

#1 Post by tcsnyder » Sat Jun 25, 2005 3:18 pm

I have a 570e-2644-5AU 392MB Ram with BIOS IUET26WW. I am attempting to upgrade to WinXP, and installing an 80GB HDD. I have upgraded the TP BIOS to IUET26WW. I have upgraded the firmware of my new (2003) HDD. I have tried several times to perform a clean install of WinXP SP2 Upgrade (fromW98se) and I haven't been able to complete the install. I can process the installation and setup except that the WinXP setup cannot load the "installer" for the "DiskDrive", "battery" and "CDRom". When the system reboots after setup is complete it displays a momnetary error beginning with "*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF889E528, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

Also, I can not start in safe mode or in safe mode with command prompt. WinXP just will not start. If I could get into Windows, I could load the 570e drivers and XP supplement but I can't get Windows to start.

Why Won't XP Boot?

I made one last try to perform a clean install of XP using NTFS. I first deleted the previously created NTFS partition and formated 76GB in FAT32 using my Win98 S/U disk. This XP install went onwithout any errors on install. I installed most of my drivers and then I performed the critical updates using "Windows Update". During this I shutdown and restarted many times. After leaving the system sit (off) for three days, I finally got back to work on it. When I started for the first time I received this BSD error message; "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The session managerInitialization system process terminatedunexpectedly with status of 0xc000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000).The system has been shut down." The TP then imediately shuts down and restarts to the same error. This cycle continues until the battery is removed. This first S/U was without the UltraBase used during the install and with a second PCMIA Network card installed. I removed the two NIC cards and restarted with the same results. I inserted the TP into the UltraBase (NIC cards removed) and restarted with the same results. This is very frustrating. I have not been able to install this retail version of the XP-SP2 Upgrade. I heard that XP was the easiest OS to install and that was from a lifelong Microsoft hater. What's up?
