T9300 T61 processor ebay scratches\cracks in die ?

#1 Post by 123434 » Thu May 17, 2018 9:17 am

Hello
I bought this T9300 processor from ebay China for 14usd$ as "NEW" for T61.
It has a lot of heavy scratches\cracks in die ?
See picture for scratches\cracks: ( Some smaller white spots are dust particles and Samsung S6 mobile phone camera is also visible )

What is going on with it ?

- It seems to work in T61 but for how long ?
- Is it really new ?
- I'm worried what Chinese have done to it. What does that chinese symbol mean ?
- Should I try money back guarantee ?

try running stress test to see if it causes any instabilities.

The Chinese symbol means sky, probably a symbol to one of the stores in China so that they know if you are sending their product back or the buyer's broken ones, in case for returns.

If it works properly, you can ask for a partial refund, for its physical condition, since the shipping would be too high for the seller to bother with, but I think it just gets mean if you do money back with the product on your hand.

"try running stress test to see if it causes any instabilities"
I runned cpu-z cpu stress test for 5 minutes and temp was HWinfo <60*C.
Under normal operation 30*C-40*C running 3Dmark2003, 1080pYoutube, WEI.

Seller returned money.

The scratches worried me.
I asked also here:
