They were meant to be out in May, but I'm guessing the Lenovo balls up prevented this from happening.

Lenovo don't know their left from their right so the hope of them finalising new models seems to be a bit optimistic at the moment

I'm quite curious to hear myself what updates are planned for the T43 series. I'm about to purchase a T43p, but am a bit worried about spending $3000+ on a new laptop when perhaps a IBM/Lenovo refresh may be imminent.

According the discussion below, any update(s) will not include changes to the graphics card which is good news (if you want to buy now).

If anyone else has news about what's coming soon, we would all greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

If you need a machine to do work today or in the near future, don't hesistate to buy it because a minor refresh *might* occur. If you don't need a new machine, don't buy one!

I doubt there will be any major changes in the T series lineup until next January, when Intel's Napa platform (Yonah Pentium M, 945/955xM chipset, next generation WiFi/WiMax) will officially launch.

Given the thinness of the 14" T4x, the use of a faster GPU like the 8-pipe mobility X700 is unlikely. An X600 is a possibility, but this would not give much better performance than the X300, and would at best be on par with the FireGL V3200.

Couldn't agree more - if its a T-series that you want then there should be no need to worry about major refreshes for a while.

Steve - why you so down on Lenovo? Seriously nothing has changed since they took over and what makes you think new models were planned for May?

last i heard, there would be no new model until 2006..
there MIGHT be a slight refresh or detail improvements..

possibly a 100 gig drive over the current 60 gig..
