Do you have a returning experience?

#1 Post by Jinsoo » Mon Jun 27, 2005 10:44 pm

Dear all.

I'm having a terrible experience. I have ordered T43 266849U and have returned twice because of fan noise and dead pixels. Eventually, I decided not to buy T43 at this time. So, I asked reimbursement about two weeks ago. But today, when I checked my bank statement and recent transanction, IBM lenovo withdrew again in amount of 1376$ (they should have returned my money). Because my balance was not enough (I am a poor student), my current bank balance became negative, I mean, minus. Today, I lent money and deposited it. When I called to customer service of IBM, they always say that they creditted to my bank the money and I have to wait more. By any chance, do you have any person who had similar experience or have a knowledge about returning process? I am deeply frustrated.

I need your reply... help me!

Two words, Credit Card.

I learned long ago not to use debit cards for stuff like this as they've got your money the second the transaction goes thru, regardless if they screwed it up. At least with credit cards the cc company can fight lenovo for the return credit instead of you being out $3k.

Good Luck!

NOTICE to all debit card users..

take your debit or check card OUT of your wallet, kiss it goodbye and run it through the shredder..!! :)

a check or debit card offer absolutely NO protection, at all..
the only thing they are good for is raising the profit of visa, mastercard and the bank involved..

you need to call ibm again and again and ask for a supervisor or a telephone number and extension code to call credit card services of ibm (lenovo) and complain.. nicely, but firmly..

too bad your thinkpad T43 did not meet expectations..
look into a T42..

Bill is right. Debit cards are suposed to offer the same protections as a credit card, but member banks to not apply the same policies between the cards. When a debit card is used and the money is out of your checking account, it's GONE.

Some people have a home-equity credit line attached to their checking accounts for overdraft protection. They automatically receive a Visa Debit card in the mail. If someone gets ahold of that card and charge it up, then they've just taken a loan out against your house! Good luck getting THAT reversed.
