X31 WLan MiniPCI Installation

Hello

I bought a IBM X31 notebook some weeks ago without the WLan Option installed (took 512MB instead of it) but now after my PCMCIA WLan Card crashed I bought a IBM Mini PCI Modul from ebay. After the part number its the right card for my notebook but when I install it I get:

Error 1802: Unauthorized MiniPCI card found. Please remove and restart

What can I do?

Hi,

You are getting that error b/c the WLAN card is NOT in the 'approved' list contained within your system's BIOS. You may want to try updating BIOS first to see if that solves it, otherwise the only other solution I know of can be found here:
