[SOLVED] 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
hi all,
I have been getting great advises here helping me to finish set up all the WIN95b drivers on this laptop.the last 1-2 drivers that i can not get to work are PCI Bridge and PCI Cardbus Bridge drivers in the system->drivers section. please see screenshot below (USB one is solved now):
https://ibb.co/W02TxBw
i have tried all the drivers on this forum Drivers page for this model laptop here but none has worked so far. would anyone know what model/manufacturer are the PCI hardware for 380XD? or where i can find the missing drivers please?
cheers

Try this driver, it should install the PCI cardbus bridge. On the other hand, I have no clue what the PCI bridge driver is.

Re: 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
thanks for the PCI driver file Screamer but it did not work
Re: 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
The 380XD uses a Texas Instruments PCI-1250A cardbus controller, and the PCI ID for it is 104C:AC16. If I am not wrong, you could also use the driver meant for a Texas Instruments PCI-1250, since they both share the same PCI ID.
Would it be possible for you to check the PCI IDs of those unknown devices, through the device manager? I could definitely use some confirmation that we are hunting for the right driver, or the wrong driver.

Re: 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
I think I may have found out what the PCI bridges are... it's part of the chipset, maybe?
This driver that is meant for the 430TX chipset/PCIset, should work on your 380XD.
I've also uploaded another driver for the cardbus controller, but you have to run PCCARDUP.EXE first. This is crucial for enabling a feature called 'Zoomed video' on the PCI-1250A, though I am not actually sure if it is the culprit that prevents the installation of the driver itself. Please note that 'PCMCIA.INF' is just another driver to serve as a last resort plan, in the case where '1250.INF' doesn't work.

Re: 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
Cheers for all the help, i will try this method tonight and report back. the last post solution didn't work but it seems that it has made some progress. now when checking the devices i can see Texas Instruments PCI-1250A listed there: https://ibb.co/wzGY4rL . it shows again even after i remove it from list and restart/refresh the Windows so you are right about the Texas Instrument hardwareScreamer wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 5:31 amI think I may have found out what the PCI bridges are... it's part of the chipset, maybe?

here are also some screenshots from popup windows (not all of them though) when i start the WIndows and it begs for missing drivers and files:

... and a few more
i believe the bridge refers to the connection between the 2 standard PCMCIA ports that 380Xd has. i guess it allows them to communicate with other if they both are filled, i.e. with two Microdrives inserted into the PCI sockets. Please correct me if i am wrong.if the PCMCIA driver issue is solved i guess the Bridge issue will solve itself hopefully.

Re: 380XD PCI & PCI CardBus Bridge Drivers
again thank you all, specially sdfox7 and screamer for helping out, you guys are amazing and i love this forum.
the PCMCIA problem is solved now
i don't know which of the solutions (and files) above exactly did the trick but i ran both above .exe files, restarted the laptop and when was asked for some random Win95 files, i searched for them on C:\ and found them in the Windows\System folder, as well as the newly created Drivers folder by http://sdfox7.com/solo9300/win9x/W95SFDV.EXE installation. you can see the result in screenshot below:
https://ibb.co/kSyHg6C
I tested both sockets and both are detecting the pictured PCMCIA modem card. now i have a complete 380XD with Windows 95, next task is enjoying it by downloading some old software and 800mb of classic DOS games to play them with my 8 years old iPad generation son
again cheers guys for all the information and the shared files. I will likely be back here next week, bugging you all again with my new software (and hardware) questions re my new 750C
P.S. i wish we could upload some of these helpful files to Drivers section of this forum for others to use
