T40p to T43p - is it worth the upgrade? And a few other ques

#1 Post by nivla » Thu Jun 30, 2005 5:50 pm

Hi All,

I have a T40p and am considering purchasing a T43p. Has anyone gone from the T40 found it worthwhile? Is the 15" display that much sweeter?

What is the absolute top of the line for 15" T43p models. What is the estimated price on the TOL model?

Does the T40 mini-dock work with the T43p?

My current system has 64MB VRAM and 1GB system RAM. It's a 1.6Ghz.

Thanks for any help.

Alvin

No.

They are roughly the same generation of machines! Sure, the T43 will be a few percent quicker (you won't notice it), not worth spending money on though IMO.....

Wait for the next generation (dual core), probably beginning next year.

Most likely not worth it unless you need the extra 3D graphics processing power.
