Hello, i saw the stickied thread, but it is only for normal WINXP. i have the tablet 2005 edtion. what can i do to back up the backup file?

what i really wanted to do is backup the restore file to a dvd-r then format my HDD to slip it in two.

After partition, i want to use the dvd-r to restore every thing back to normal.

Will this plan work? what i am afaird is i won't be able to restore by using the backup dvd.

I'm not really sure about Tablet 2005. AFAIK, as long as you make the backup set, you should be able to restore it to the factory defaults. I'd suggest making the backup disks on both CD's & a DVD-R, just in case.

The blue ACCESS IBM button when you first turn it on. Hit that and it there are menues that will walk you thru it.

Yeah you can - just click on Start>All Programs>Access IBM>Create Recovery Disks. I would imagine that creating the Tablet PC CD using the given instructions would work just as it does for normal XP but to be honest I haven't tried it

tablet 2005 == winxp sp2 installed on the tablet edition of winxp (2600 and sp1 builds)

The key is that you have to have the tablet edition installed first if you're performing the upgrade, but if a computer company says a tablet includes "tablet edition 2005", it just means it's SP2'd.

So will i be able to use the restore file in my hidden drive to restore winxp? If i format my HDD, can i use the restore file to get back my WINXP plus drivers?
