remanufactured system boards?

I was wondering if anyone knows were I can get a remanufactured system board for an R40

Do you have a P4-M or Pentium-M based R40? Here is a motherboard that will work if it's the former type...claims to be new. $250 buy it now, they have 4 of them.

These folks seem to have a lot of stock for R40's, they have the motherboard for my 2896 model machine and it is cheaper than the one from ebay above:

I have machine type 2897, and unfortunatly they do not have a motherboard at Impact Computers for me

It looks like a number of other machine types shared a board with at least some of the 2897 model thinkpads. Can you post the 3 letter suffix for your model? For example, the 2897-GAU model has a couple different motherboards depending on onboard video, firewire, etc. However, the parts list is for machine types 2722, 2723, 2724 and 2897...so you may find a match under a slightly different machine type.

That is a nice model. If I hadn't been cheap when I bought mine, I'd have gotten that one with the 15 inch 1400x1050 display...sigh...Well, looks like you need FRU 91P7283. Here is a place with that part (ouch on price):
