just ordered my first thinkpad...

woohoo! i've got a 2668-C2U on the way. only cost $1823.20 taxed and shipped.

also got a 200gb HD with an external USB 2.0 cage

now i just need to order a bluetooth daughter card

should i buy a 512mb stick now or wait it out a few months till either a 1gb stick is cheaper or when i can afford it?

is there anything i should know about what i should do first to break it in (like with the battery or something)?

im so excited ;-)

RAM is very cheap right now, no need to wait. It looks like a sweet unit, congrats!

Good price. Which school did you buy it from? What warranty does it have?

I would get a case & screen protection for it. Other than that, just do the things suggested in the T42 FAQ: dead pixel test, bios/drivers/software update, etc.

I really think getting a Shaggymac or radscreenz is worth it. But then I don't want MY screen scratched by the trackpoint & keys.
