Recommend for an architecture major student ?

#1 Post by campusx » Tue Jun 22, 2004 9:32 pm

Hello...thinkpads.com forum
I need to get a new one in a hurry.
My sony vaio GRX suddenly stop working.

My field is Architecture.
Which one is good to me ?
I need to run graphic programs,
such as Autocad, PhotoShop, Formz and etc.

There are too many kinds in IBM site and even in here.
(Basically, I think, at least, I need
high speed CPU, 512 ram, 64 video memory.
maybe..wireless.
What else I should consider and choose ?)

Because my before's sony got 16.1' monitor,
in this time I would like to prefer lighter notebook.
Which size screen would be better to me between 14' and 15'?

Have a good day.
Thank you.

PS > My sony Vaio GRX got broken with no reason.
I gave it to MicroCenter'r repair part three weeks ago.
They sent mine to their related third party repair center.
Microcenter still gives me no answer except 'wait'
I am going to be an IBM user instead of sony.
I hate sony and MicroCenter.

I would think a 15 inch screen with the 1600 x 1200 resolution would be best. What is your price range?

My budget is between $2000-$3000 .
Is it enough for me to get a new T42 with
a 15 inch screen with the 1600 x 1200 resolution ?
Which model is on your mind ?

IBM's model name is too confused to go for it.
It sounds like a gene data.
