which one would make a better DOS gaming machine?
i read that SB sound card compatibility is the most important factor when it comes to DOS gaming. is one better than the other in that aspect?
also, I think 600X should have no problem taking 30GB or bigger hard drive. is that the same for 600? I noticed that older TPs sometimes doesn't play nice
if hard drive is greater than 8GB...
opinions are appreciated. BTW, my 600 is brand-new in box so i'm a bit hesitant to use it but anything for dos gaming, i suppose
(and i won't live forever so might as well enjoy it)
X31, X40, X61T, X61, X201, X220 (i7 IPS), W520 (2720QM/2000M/FHD), T440p (i7-4800MQ/GF730GT/FHD),
Dells: Latitude C840, Precision M70, Precision M4400, M6400 (WUXGA), M6600, M6700, Dell XPS 13 w/Kaby Lake+Iris Pro+TB3
Daily driver: T480
600X uses a CS4624, which is a PCI codec; still has very good DOS support, but issues with stereo FM music are present (normally if you select 'Adlib' it will sound better in games).
T60 2007-QPG, T42 2373-F7G, X32 (IPS Screen), A31p w/ Ultrabay Numpad, A21m 2628-GXU
I decided to go with 600X just because I can also run W2K in dual-boot mode more effortlessly. But I am having a problem using W98 SEfactory recovery process.
Do any of you successfully run the factory recovery process on 600X recently?
