Fan not turning on

#1 Post by mgeller142 » Mon Jul 04, 2005 7:02 pm

Help!

My A30 fan doesn't seem to want to go on. Ever. I updated the driver, and minimized performance using the Maxi-Battery power scheme after. I watch the temp tick up from 80 degrees to over 105, at which point, the drive starts to die and the machine eventually blue-screens.

My next task is to clean it, but I am not hopeful.

Am I running any old drivers? Any other ideas?

Many thanks in advance,

Michael

Maybe your fan is dead. Drivers won't fix that, but I'm sure you can get a new fan somewhere else. Cleaning it up might prolong it a bit but I find it's usually better to just replace fans like that.
X31, T43p (on sale soon I think :( ), T400

OK, so I wasn't 100% accurate. It does come on, briefly, for about 5 seconds, upon startup. It won't come on after that.

Any ideas?
