Older but sleek, (and all I can afford :D)

My thinkpad, running Win2k Thanks to the people here.
The background is bluish because I didn't use a flash and I have a flourescent light-bulb-thing.

I have a friend who owns a 570E. I once put it on the UltraBase and it was still thinner than my 380. I guess I need to upgrade one of these days.

EDIT (3/9/06): Somehow, I'm the new owner of the 570E I mentioned and it's really a great little machine. I really like how lightweight it is.

Hi Jesspkc,

I envy you - I just got a 570e and I can't seem to install Windows 2000 at all. May I ask how you did it and what problems you ran into? My problem is that I always crash to the BSOD when hal.dll is started for the first time during setup. I wrote about it in detail here:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=16877

Maybe you can give me new hope for my sad broken 570e ...

C/H/S settings??

#5 Post by gustep » Fri Oct 28, 2005 6:45 pm

Hi Jesspkc,

I also read your posts and was wondering about where in the world you could set C/H/S parameters for your HDD. When I go into the bio setup of my 570e by hitting F1, the setup looks pretty simple, and I don't see any option to configure the HDD as LBA etc. All I ever se about my HDD is the model string (MK2060GAX), and that only under the boot hierarchy.

Maybe I haven't figured out how to get into the full-blown setup of my TP 570e? Maybe I am stuck in some kind of EZ-setup? Or what is going in?
