Z61m CPU Upgrade

The idea of upgrading my trusty-old laptop has piqued my interest. I have a Z61m IBM ThinkPad with the t2400 processor inside. Is the t7200 a viable option for my system or is there another faster processor that will work? I'm new to computer-building so any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
Before anyone suggests I search for myself; I did read the provided links "Core 2 Duo Upgrade" and "T60 Core Duo --> Core 2 Duo" but was unsure if the information applied to my Z61m system.

I have three Z61p machines and they all have Core2 Duo T7600 CPUs, with 3GB RAM and SSD drives. One of them has a cheap Broadcom BCM70015 video card, so playback of 60fps 1080p videos are able to be watched. Another cheap upgrade that can be added to the ExpressCard/54 slot, is USB 3.0 / eSata, which although not full USB 3.0 speed it still maxes out the SATA1 bus and is very quick. Another cheap upgrade idea is to get an Ultrabay caddie and put a second hard drive in there, although if you plan on using the DVD drive you can skip this.
