T540P versus W530 Any thoughts?
T540P versus W530 Any thoughts?
My main machine is a W530, but I have recently acquired a slightly lower specc'd T540P for a decent price. It has an i5 rather than an i7 chip, and a low-res screen, but but both can easily be upgraded.
Aside from lower max RAM, which isn't an issue, and the awful clunkpad (also not an issue as I use a mouse) is there any reason not to make the change?

Well, the only screen worth upgrading to in a T540p is the 3K Panasonic one, the rest of them are junky. Just something to consider.

Re: T540P versus W530 Any thoughts?
Thank you. I am glad I asked before buying!
There is somebody up the road selling these Panasonic screens but I have a further question. The Panasonic seller mentions a 40 pin connector, but somebody else selling screens for a T540P says they have a 30 pin connector. Is he wrong, or are both possible, and what happens if the laptop requires 30?
Cheers.

Re: T540P versus W530 Any thoughts?
Thanks. I have seen a few more sellers saying the same. The first seller I saw quoted 30 pin, hence my question.
