I am in need of adding a second hard drive to my T490 that can be used as a boot device.
Is this possible in any way? I have read online that someone was able to add an M.2 in the WWAN port, but only some models and without them being usable as a boot drive.
Any solution or suggestion?
If it's not possible to add an internal drive I am thinking of making a bootable disk on an external USB type C drive, hoping that would not slow down too much the performance of a whole system with VMs and such. But having a second, bootable internal drive would definitely be better.

That option was last seen in T480 and Lenovo has since killed it.
Looks like Lenovo is turning out more fruitcakes than laptops...

Is there any way to have any sort of second drive in a T490S?
I may buy a high capacity micro SD card...
I miss my X201T keyboard.
Hopefully I get use to the T490S soon.
Thanks and good health, Weogo
this sucks. But if is only a matter of adding support in the BIOS, Lenovo should really think about doing it... this limitation is quite annoying
Most annoying thing is that almost no company seems to take advantage of the fact you can fit up to 4x M.2 80mm drives in the space of a 2.5" x 9.5mm drive. Just make laptop thinner instead of more capable . . .
