What does EXPRESS model mean?

can anyone explain what "Express model" is?

I believe it is a part of the "Think Express Program" which AFAIK is for employees only. Maybe one of the experts here will correct me if I am wrong! Hth -

I'm almost positive it means that they keep that certain model in stock, and therefore should (in theory) be shipped a lot sooner than other models that aren't in the Think Express Program.

The ThinkPad Express program isn't for employees only, but for employees the discount on express models is less than that on other boxes.

There's nothing unique about express models other than being models with configurations that IBM/Levano think will be more popular. In general, it seems that express models have shorter ship times, but I don't know for sure - I only pay attention to the ThinkPad ordering sites every couple years.

Yes, it is as the name implies. These models are the combination of what the clients seem to like the most and the most popular features for the best value. As such, a larger proportion of them are kept in stock, hence the "Express" name. They are commonly listed for sale on the websites and already have certain discounts already applied making their price lower than a closely-featured system or a similar CTO build.

Also, as per forum rules and just to note, no further discussions of EPP or pricing thereof, please.
