701C hdd upgrade issue

#1 Post by Sunshine701c » Sun Aug 02, 2020 6:53 am

I've been working on my 701c, trying to get it to boot with a solid state hhd solution for a while now.
I've tried 2 things. One being a cf to ide adapter that I've successfully used with my 390e, and a sd to ide adapter that I got off of ebay. Both of them give me the same error when I run through the hdd1 diagnostic in bios.

I've tried installing windows 95 on both of these and they just dont seem to work. I'd really like to get an sd solution to work here, because hdds that actually work with the 701c are expensive and fragile.
