Different clear plates

Hi,

What is the difference between the T43 clear plate FRU #26R8409 for 18xx and #13R2455 for 26xx?

My guess is that one clear plate has the bluetooth light , and one doesn't.

They are actually the same. FRU #26R8409 replaces 13R2455. I just recieved 26R8409 and it has all the T series clear plates.

FRU #26R8409 can also be ordered through IBM online shop.

im a bit confused about the clear plates. from what i can tell, the fru# 26R8409 is only for the t43 series. i have a T42p and just added bluetooth. if i order this part number, does it include the t42 series plates as well, or just the t43? or should i be ordering the other part number 13R2455?

That's the proper part number for the T42p.

EDIT: That's not to say BJF05 is not correct. But I would just order what was listed for my model - unless you are trying to buy off e-bay, etc.

A month ago, when I purchased spare parts for my Thinkpad, I also wanted to buy the Clear Plate. Unfortunately the part number provided by IBM online wasn't working.
An email to a CSR solved that, and I was given the part number 26R8409. It includes all T4xp and non/p models status indicator panels, for both sides of the monitor frame. In total, I believe there was 18 different clear plates, for almost no money. What a deal!

Has 26R8409 been superceded, and if so, does anybody know the new FRU? The online ordering doesn't seem to recognize either 26R8409 or 13R2455 now.

Aside: has anybody noticed T4x parts prices have increasing significantly in the last two monts? The 91P6897 bluetooth antenna and 13R2449 misc. LCD parts kit now cost about twice what they were when I last looked in August. The no-touchpad palm rest is $33 as opposed to $22, and everything else I'd been sitting on buying has gone up too. I'd sat on things before, wanting to come to terms with the cost of shipping, but now everything's gone up by more than that! Augh!
