Monitor cable exposed T42

I can see what appears to be a video cable next to the left hinge on my 14" T42.

Here is a picture.http://s88206930.onlinehome.us/t42cable
It's the black strip with partial camera flash. Is this normally visible on TPs?

Normal on the 14", it's less visible on the 15" from the front of the laptop, but you can see a bit from the back.
X31, T43p (on sale soon I think :( ), T400
