I ordered my thinkpad on Monday (7/11).. and I was told that it was on a 2 week backorder. No big deal, I just need it before August (so I can check it out before I leave for law school). Came into work today, and what do you know, my T42 shipped yesterday from Hong Kong! How crazy, and quick, was that?

Now the only thing that I am trying to figure out is what type of keyboard it shipped with. I have the serial number for the unit, but nothing is coming up. any suggestions?

Same with mine. The website said it would ship July 28, and on of the reps said it would probably be closer to two weeks, but it was at my door in a week!

Here is the thing.. this is the FRU/part number associated with my keyboard : 39T0519 when i look it up it says Keyboard 14" US English NMB... I assume this is the Thai one? It doesnt match any code in the list form the keyboard link that you provided.

With your part number 39T0519, I found the keyboard table with both numbers.

39T0519 is the Thai keyboard. It is the good one.
